Bringing the Pizzeria into the Home

Over the years The Hall Design Group has designed and installed several custom wood burning pizza ovens into the home. Thanks to General Electric there is no need to do that anymore. General Electric has introduced a unique pizza oven within their Monogram line. This oven will fit right into your cabinetry just as a 30” wall oven would. The oven burns up to 1300 degrees and the “LCD controls allow for easy selection of pre-set cooking options including a variety of pizza settings and choices for flatbreads”. Another nice feature to this oven is the integrated oven vent which means no venting out of the home. The performance of the oven allows for a crispy pizza just as one would find coming out of the wood burning oven. Pizza anyone?

sous vide

Sous Vide-Cooking’s Big Trend of The Year

Once the choice of top chefs, Sous Vide is increasingly becoming popular for today’s passionate, home cook. With this method of cooking you can produce restaurant quality cooking in your home with the guidance of this French food preservation method. Sous Vide cooking is a method of cooking using precise temperature control to create consistent results. Sous Vide is defined as “cooking with the food vacuum sealed in a water bath or now with the aid of air and steam”. It is a very slow and precise method of cooking to gain maximum results.

sous vide

In the past sous vide has been something one might only order at a restaurant, but we are now seeing many appliance manufacturers that have their ovens with a setting to allow for this method of cooking to be done at home. You can check out steam ovens by Bosch, Miele and Wolf and refer to the single wall oven by Electrolux which has an “Air Sous Vide” method to gain best results.

No More Splatters in the Kitchen

Say goodbye to messes and splatters with new Delta Technology

Anyone that has ever worked with The Hall Design Group knows that the Delta Brizo series of kitchen faucets has long been a favorite of ours, not only for the various styles offered but also for the ever-important pull down magnetic docking. The magnetic docking keeps the pull down in place when not in use, making it extremely practical in the kitchen. It amazes me that after 33 years in business I still see new and exciting things. Delta is now offering 2 new items in their line. The first and revolutionary item is the new “shield” technology. Delta Technology delivers a simple yet practical means to clean with laser-like precision while containing mess and splatter. A concentrated jet of water powers stubborn messes away as an innovative water shield simultaneously contains splatter and clears off the mess. Also new into the line is the “Arctic” stainless finish. This new finish gives me another tool to add to my design arsenal when fulfilling The Hall Design Groups clients’ needs.

John Hall talks Kitchen Trends with Fox 8 News

“Today I had the honor of watching my dad talk about two of his passions on Fox 8 News; cooking and kitchen design.  I am constantly amazed by the way the industry is veering away from having a ‘one person kitchen’ as my dad mentions and evolving into a more family friendly kitchen space.  I know for my family the kitchen is where some of our best memories are formed and the theory of ‘too many cooks in the kitchen’ simply does not exist.”

A Tile that Redefines the Vision of Space

Located in the heart of the South Chagrin Reservation I recently completed a beautiful “modern” kitchen. In order to complete this project we needed to locate a tile that would be minimalistic in nature yet have some interesting and crisp architectural lines to enhance the finished product. We ended up going with a tile company named “WOW”. Wow is a tile line used in all areas of the home that can be described as “elegant yet contemporary” and allows the freedom of creativity. I have fallen in love with this line due to the fact that it will give me another tool to express my creativity and vision for the space.

Leicht Innovations 2018

I am proud to represent Leicht, the leader in fine European kitchen furniture for many reasons.

When it comes to fulfilling the kitchen desires of the client Leicht always takes the lead. The design world is quickly evolving into one of “modern style”. Over the past year I have been approached by clients who are looking to achieve an “industrial” looking kitchen. Leicht listened to the clients’ requests and introduced the new Minera series.

With German technology, Leicht was able to achieve a metallic looking effect on a series of their cabinetry. These doors are a matte lacquer and are anti-fingerprint. The different finishes include tarnished brass, charred black steel, and also a rusty steel effect. This series will greatly aid me in creating a unique kitchen space at an affordable price, as Minera is at a lower price series. We are on the cusp of a design revolution in which with technology we can create spaces never seen before due to extreme cost and Leicht is on the forefront of that.

September’s Featured Space of the Month

Nestled in horse country lies a beautiful home, and the kitchen gracefully compliments the architecture of the space beautifully.

The cabinetry is just one of the many features that makes this kitchen so unique. We blended whites and grays creating a warm and inviting feel. The cabinets are frameless but if you notice we emphasized a furniture feel in certain areas. I elected to use the same door, but with inset construction in these areas, allowing them so stand out. The wood hood is the jewel of the kitchen and sets the tone for the rest of the space. The owners are so excited by the outcome and have already had the opportunity to be the “chefs” that this space allows them to be.
